It came to Earth one dreary night in December and fell with a loud crash
behind a big red barn near the small farming town of Kimberly.

The impact shook the ground, waking residents from miles around.

"what the hell was that?" was the general comment from the townfolk in
confusion.

Bob Radford, the sherrif of the town looked out of his bedroom window and
saw the pulsating green glow in the distance.

"What is it, honey?" asked his wife from the bed.

"I dunno, but from the impact it has to be something big".

Getting out of the bed ,his wife,Lucy, slipped into a nightgown and went
besides him.

"let's go see."said Bob. They both got dressed and went into their truck
that was parked in front of the building.

Already vehicles were passing by down the dirt road towards the crash
site. Juno, their St Bernard slipped into the tray and soon they were
heading towards the site.

A few people were already there when the Radfords reached the site. They
skirted around the wide smoking crater the object made and stared in
fascination at the huge smoking metal object that was embe dded there .
It was about fifty feet in diameter bob estimated

Bill Shavers, the town's grocery shop owner sauntered up to Bob and said
in his throaty voice

‘Hell, Bob ,it's huge."

"Yeah, I wonder where it came from, it dosen't look like anything I
know." Bob replied.

" And looked at them port holes." Bill pointed at the round port holes
along the sides of the object.

"If you ask me, it looks like one of them flying saucer things"

"Sure do"

"Damn, I thought that stuff was all science fiction"

"Me too."

A sudden humming started, coming from the object.. The crowd
instinctively back away from the crater.

"What do ya think,Sherrif?" said a voice at Bob's shoulder. It was the
Preacher, Reverend Macleod. He, like the others, stood staring in
fascination at the glimmering object.

"I frankly don't know,Reverend,it could be one of them government
things, an experiment, or it might have come from outer space."

"Outer Space?'"

"Yeah ,we really don't know for sure what's out there, do we, Reverend?'

"I guess not" the Reverend agreed." The ways of the Lord are sometimes
mysterious."

An hour later, a huge crowd of spectators had gathered, coming from
miles around.

Then it happened.

A side of the craft began lifting slowly. The crowd gasped and backed
away. The humming became louder as a long ramp emerged and rested at
the foot of the craft A a pair of tall, thin creatures emerged from the
