Being called a mistake prompted a woman to re-exam her life when dealing with the emotions of that word coming back to haunt her. | |||
Consistently Wrong ~ It all started when I was conceived. My mother was accused of having an affair. Turns out it wasn't true. But a theme began. ~ After Vietnam I become the “spoils of war.” What once was was never to be again. For reasons only he knows I was tossed aside to live a life without my other parent. ~ A boy charmed me. Told me I was the princess I always wanted to be. He got what he bargained for. I was left to pick up the pieces. The word haunted me throughout my teenage years. ~ Got married young. Was divorced five years later. Found out it was all a joke. He only wanted to get laid. Had children to raise. So I made one of many. Married again for all the wrong reasons. Lived a life full of them. ~ The fates took a turn. Or so I thought. I was going to be treasured.
