A friend of mine recently broke up with his girlfriend. I wanted to write something to let him know I knew what he was feeling and came up with this. | |||
Heartbroken We open our hearts to people, we think, will keep it safe. Only to find they weren't worth it in the first place. We allow them in. To explore our bodies and our minds. We do this because love is blind. We think they will love us for eternity. We hope and dream about building a family. We go about our daily lives imagining life is so grand. Only to learn, from our partners, that love is bland. Darkness intrudes. Depression sets in. Our hearts, once full of romance, start to spin. Out of control is what we feel. Our perfect passion has now become unreal. What is this feeling? Why does it have to be this way? What did we do? We try so hard to live day to day. When in reality, the pain from a broken heart kills us. Click here to read the rest of this story (49 more lines)
