This is my description on the "Seasons of Life." I hope someone, who knows how to write poetry, will read it and tell me what's wrong with it. Feedback is begged on this one :-D. | |||
Seasons of Life A poem by Lori ~Spring~ A time of birth, A period of excitement, And an age for mirth. Spring is childhood through adolescent. In school pictures, a gleam is in your eyes, Of mischief and there's a sense of being complete. Your parents are proud of you and full of love. The world is at your feet. You've been given an oyster, To fill with grains of sand. There is no feeling of cloister, When you know ahead it's already been planned. ~Summer~ A time of love, A period of despair, And an age of signs from above. Summer is adolescent to adulthood. Where puberty will strike, Your first feelings of hate, And doing things for spite. The obligations are closing in on you, Time is growing short for your childhood dreams, Now it's time for discovering things that are fresh and new. Your pearl isn't yet bright, For it's still forming inside the shell. You have to find the light, Or you may find the world to be a dark hell. ~Fall~ A time for rebirth, A period of remembrance, And an age of knowing there is hell on earth. Fall is adulthood to middle age. You glance back on life and see your mistakes, But it's also where you can turn the page. You have children now who look up to you.
