The Boat A boat on a river, The river tranquil and serene, Knowing the future is safe. A ripple in the wake of life Disturbs the rhythm, Creates havoc, Words fly, Swirling tides of misunderstanding Angry skies above, Stir up the past Waves of violence Overwhelming Rush forward Bringing stinging revenge Over the bow of this boat The skies grow darker and I become Lost in the rough waters Grasping onto hope It's weak thread Tearing In this battle Of wills I am rowing a boat On a river of uncertainty You had one oar I had the other You jump ship Leaving me to steer alone Going around in circles Not knowing tomorrow So I stop And wait For the storm to pass And in my despair I find peace And in my peace I find Myself...
