Loving You

Everyone has one of these, a love that got away. One where you would go
back in time to have again. This stems off that feeling, a past love I 
wish I could change.

To: The one who got away, 

I don't understand how you're still in my heart. I don't understand I‘ve
done everything I can do to get you out.  I don't understand why I look 
for you in each person I meet. I don't understand why I can't move on. 

Sometimes I think I'm over you, and then I'm reminded of you. Sometimes
I think I can go on, and then I'm reminded of you. Sometimes I think 
I've forgotten you, and then I reminded of you. Sometimes I think I 
hate you, and then I'm reminded of you. 

I loved you in the beginning, when we first met. I loved you when you
were hurting. I loved you when you were mad. I loved you when you were 
glad. I loved you when you feeling blue. I loved you when away you 
flew. 

I think of you when I'm hurting. I think of you when I'm mad. I think of
you when I'm glad. I think of you when I'm blue. I think about the time 
you flew. 

One day I'll give you up. One day I'll let you go. One day I'll move on.
One day you'll be part of the past. One day you'll forgive me. One day 
I'll forgive myself. One day can't come fast enough. 

There'll be many days ahead, that's life. There'll never be a day I
won't want you. There'll never be a day I don't want to undo the past. 
There'll never be a day where I won't dream of you. There'll never be a 
day where I won't love you. 

You'll always be with me. You'll always be my Knight in Shining Armour.
You'll always be out of reach. You'll always be part of me. You'll 
always have a place with me. You'll always own part of my heart. 

I see you when I close my eyes. I hear your voice in my head. I hear
your heartbeat in my ear. I feel your touch when the wind blows. I hear 
you sigh when I say something stupid. I hear you say, “I love you” in 
my heart. 

You may be gone, that's ok. You may be gone I can live with it. You may
be gone; you've left my world dark and lonely. You may be gone, you've 
moved on. You may be gone, but you aren't forgotten. 

There's light at the end of the tunnel. There's always tomorrow. There's
always another day. There's always someone to take your place. Most 
importantly, the sun shines brightly for you and me. 

Maybe we won't see it together. Maybe we won't cross that bridge again.
Maybe there never will be someone new. Maybe life can go on. Maybe I'll 
love again. Maybe you are free of me. Maybe we can be friends. 

Our song, To Make You Feel My Love, says it all. “Storms are raging on a
rolling sea, down the highway of regret. Winds of change are blowing 
wild and free, but you ain't seen nothing like me yet. There ain't 
nothing that I wouldn't do, go to the ends of the earth for you. Make
