(part 2) Liz was extremely quiet during dinner that night. She wasn't her usual self - a warm, bubbly girl. Evan could sense that something was troubling her deeply. He wanted to ask her about it then, but felt that it'd be better of he talked to her in private. Their mother seemed oblivious to what was going on. After washing the dishes, Evan went to find his sister and saw her lying on her bed. He gave a gentle knock on the door, and immediately Liz turned to look at him. "Can I come in, Liz?" he asked. Liz hesitated for a moment, then nodded her head. "Sure." She ushered her brother towards a chair and he sat. "So," she began. "You're here with a purpose, I suppose." Evan was startled for a minute. But then he regained himself quickly. "Yes, in fact I want to ask you something, sis," he replied. Liz motioned for him to go ahead with what he'd intended to say. So Evan told her about how he felt about her while they were having dinner. It took him some time before he could get Liz to spill everything out. She cried as she related what the incident to Evan. "Bro...I really can't believe it..." she cried. Evan thought it was probably that Liz was being a little too emotional about the matter. "Hush sis...everything's gonna be ok. That murder took place in the past," he said, trying to comfort her. That night, Evan tucked his sister to sleep upon seeing the frightened look on her face. He accompanied her till she was sound asleep. He placed a kiss on her warm forehead and got up to return to his bedroom. He heaved a sigh of relief as he lay on his bed and closed his eyes. Evan felt as if someone had touched him and his eyelids fluttered open. "Liz?" he said in a drowsy manner. Liz looked even more terrified. Her face was pale, and cold sweat was pouring out of her forehead. "Evan...the whole thing seemed so real!" she exclaimed. "I dreamt of it and it seemed so real!" "Calm down, Liz. Calm down," Evan said, embracing her in his arms. "It's only a dream." "It's more than a dream, Evan. I felt that the whole thing has re-enacted itself!" Liz practically shouted. "God, what am I going to do? I'm so tired I want to have a peaceful sleep. But this thing just keeps repeating itself, brother. And I don't know how to deal with it." Evan thought that it'd be better if she slept in his room that night, so that he could keep and eye on her, even though it meant breaking a family rule. He'd no choice but to make sure that Liz was really alright. I'll explain everything to mom, he thought to himself. "Here Liz. You can sleep on my bed tonight," he offered. "Just in case you have that dream again, I'll be on the floor." Liz grinned at him. She counted herself lucky to have such a caring brother like Evan. "Thanks a lot, brother." Tweet
