This was written recently, inspired by the many storms we've been having over the past few weeks. | |||
From clear and blue, to dark and gray in no time at all A humid hot day turns suddenly cool A storm is brewing, better prepare Watch the sky, is that a tinge of green i see? ~ A flash of lightning, a clap of thunder The sky lights up, the ground it trembles The wind and the rain, together cause a stir Watch the leaves fly as the roads turn to streams ~ The wind it howls and makes such a fuss A minute outside and you're drenched to the bone Lightning and thunder, together make a great show The clouds are magnificient, the atmosphere electrifying ~ Slowly things calm, the wind it drops As the clouds vanish the rain does stop And only a distant rumble of thunder remains Everything's still, peace has returned. ~ It's hard to belive, what has just occured All that remains are scattered leaves on the road Broken branches on the lawn, puddles in the street And a beautiful sunset over the hills.
