Girl and boy go out. Girl comes to a realization. | |||
Kelly Shanarrah wakes with a gentle breeze caressing her near naked body and the rays of the sun touching her skin. Groggily, she sits up, her body aching, head pounding; she rubs the sleep out of her eyes. Upon opening her eyes, Kelly looks at her hands, but the image doesn't register immediately. Covered in the color of scarlet, grass and leaves clinging to the drying substance. She brings her hands to her face feeling the same as on her hands, the taste of metallic on her tongue. Realization fully awakens her. Kelly screams. "Not again. Oh, please God, not again." TWO NIGHTS AGO Standing before her full-length mirror, Kelly examines herself, smiling widely at the image staring back at her. Twisting from side to side, she looks her body up and down, liking what she is seeing. An electric blue dress, tight, leaving nothing to the imagination. Quarter heel pumps tighten her calves enough to show a hint of definition. Her long blonde hair, straight, pinned back over her ears, and teasingly it lay over her shoulder. "Billy's heart going to drop when he sees me," Kelly says to herself, and an excited squeak passes through her throat as she turns around and skips/hops over to her vanity. “I will give him a night he'll never forget,” she says to her smiling reflection, into her sparkling blue eyes. DING-DONG. Another excited squeak escapes Kelly's mouth as she jumps up and quickly runs for the door. She pauses for a moment, fanning herself with her hand, taking a deep breath. She reaches out for the doorknob and opens it slowly. Eyes wide, mouth dropped, Billy stands at the door in awe. Slowly raising his arms, he compliments Kelly, “I have never seen you looking so beautiful.” The couple grasps hands. Kelly cannot imagine what Billy is feeling, but the feelings that she hopes for are nearly the same as hers. "Thank you, lover," Kelly says, blushing. They step closer to each other and their lips touch. "Are you ready to go?" "But of course," Kelly says in ecstasy. Hand in hand, Kelly and Billy walk to his car. "This is going to be some party," Billy says. "I am sure not to forget it." Smile frozen on her face, Kelly remains in bliss. Loud music and flashing lights lead the couple in the right direction. The streets were lined with partygoers, each had a cup in hand, many two, drinking, spilling, and having a good time. Without seriously hurting anyone while pulling up near the house, Kelly and Billy get out of the car, and were quickly swarmed with people handing them a cup of drink, a burning joint, pills of assorted colors. "Here, please take this, I can get another one." "Want to see the stars?" "Where were you guys? I thought you were never going to show." "Come on, the real party's out back." Sean wraps his arms around Kelly and Billy, and leads them to the backside of the house. "I knew that there was going to be a big turn out, but I never dreamed of it being this big." "What did you expect?" Billy said. "All it takes is one flyer, and BYOB. These slobs are always looking for a place to crash." Click here to read the rest of this story (431 more lines)
