All the fighting Going nowhere All the struggle Many forebear Never knowing Where it leads us Does it solve Or merely grieve us Fighting on Condemn each other Did the boy Not have a mother Was the father Only present Was he missing Was he absent Who's to blame Who's expertise Will shed a light And needed breeze Clear the air Of every folly Smoke of war Does mask the volley Carry on The 'stainless' banner Clutch it tightly In all manner Never drop it Never stop Is it progress Should we not?
