I often wonder how people view me as I view them. | |||
Sometimes it seems to me that some people are born under a lucky star! Either they are incredibly lucky or they sure know how to cover up their pain. Or there are the ones who you want to avoid because all they talk about is themselves! It's whatever pain or ache they have! Enough already! Who do you think you are? Do I have time to listen to this crap? I want to be kind but if you are working with someone that talks nonstop about themselves and there is no where to go, your saturation point comes very quickly. Your mouth says, "You poor thing." But your mind says, "Oh will you get over yourself!" It's funny how "politeness" in social situations causes us to weigh our words carefully. If we really said everything we thought, their would be alot more fighting going on. Gossip is the number one addiction in office situations. It can really damage friendships, if you choose to listen or participate in it. It's very damaging and stupid in my opinion. It makes you wonder about these people. They say they are your co-workers, friends, but who do they think they are? Are they really your friends? Maybe. Maybe not. Maybe they are just bored. Maybe they are jealous. Or just plain mean. The best thing to do is to ignore their stupidity and not take anything they say seriously. It's their problem not yours. If they want to trash someone's good name. Shame on them. Bravo for you for not playing their games. And how do you know they are not talking about you when you leave the room? So before paranoia sets in, walk away and ask yourself who do you think you are? You are everything you can be this moment and happy in your own heart. Don't follow the crowd when the crowd is shallow and self-absorbed. Snobs only like other snobs and trying to be friends with a stuck up, two-faced snob, is pointless. Try to find genuine friends that accept you as you are and are fun to be around. Leave the gossip to the silly newspapers at the supermarket. Hold your head up high and be yourself. If they ask you who do you think you are? Just smile and say, "I'm not you, that's for sure!" That'll keep them stupid for a while trying to figure that one out. Have a nice day and be yourself!!! Tweet
