Population Control Through Open-Mindedness Choosing a simple Lesbian lifestyle -- it's not for every woman. But it is a certainly one viable solution to the world's principal challenge: survival of the human species. If every child in the world can be influenced to trust and believe in this, within two decades, the rate of global population increase would be reduced substantially. What needs to be done in order for a global Lesbian revolution to take place? Remember: it is every female person worldwide who may be able to bear children. If fifteen to twenty percent of these women freely and happily embraced life as Lesbians, it would dramatically impact the rate of childbearing. This would reduce the rate of population growth to manageable levels that the Earth can sustain. First, every single child on earth must learn to be open-minded regarding sex, gender and reproduction before s/he reaches the age of childbearing. In this way, each female child will be free to choose a life destiny that can be totally fulfilling without bearing a child. Can this job be carried out in school? in church? at home? at work? where else? We all must do whatever is necessary to abort the influence that traditional pressures and beliefs about childbearing / child raising have on the young minds of female people. How swiftly can you and I launch the global movement toward maximizing love, maximizing the pleasures of sex -- and minimizing the skewed bias toward joining opposite genders for the purpose of childbearing? What needs to be changed in every community of like-minded people on the planet in order to create a new moral ethic -- to be taught to everyone everywhere? The new moral ethic must stress that love among girls can be more fulfilling and more supportive than ANYTHING ELSE YOU CAN DREAM UP!!! Don't address any male issues. They are different. Intimate, sincere male/female friendships must become the chief guideline -- not "marriage". There is no longer any reason whatsoever for creating a child unless the community approves of a "sacred bond for the chief purpose of bearing up to two children". It is easy to collect these thoughts as an essay. Can they be implemented in time to stabilize the earth's population? That's not so easy. But neither is it impossible. Seattle, October 16, 2009 Gerald X. Diamond All rights reserved 1. Comment of Stanley Adam Heilbrun: It would appear that the desire to reproduce is deeply hard-wired into the metabolism of the great majority of females and a substantial percentage of men as well. Furthermore, for virtually all of the earth's impoverished populations, having many children is an economic necessity. As oil becomes depleted we will be returning to family farms for a great part of our food production. Farmers need kids. What would be the outlet for the libidos of the un-partnered men? And finally, you are bucking up against millennia of religious biases which will not be overcome by a rational argument for controlling the earth's population. As a footnote to the lesbian issue --- When I was living in Tokyo and learning Japanese I asked my wife how to say "lesbian" in Japanese. She replied: "rez-bee-an." I said "No. What is the JAPANESE word?" And she said that there is no word in Japanese. It has always been assumed that historically, most women would fuck their husbands to make babies but that they would find their real intimacy and pleasure with other women. The men, in turn, would find their friendships among men and their pleasure with courtesans. I had also guessed that much the same was true from my experience in Afghanistan and Pakistan. S.A.M.
