Author: White RabbitAdded: Mar 07 2001Views/Reads: 3642/4Story vote: 0.00 (0 votes)
a short poem i wrote after receiving numerous college speeches from various family members.

What is life for?

To obey your parents

Respect your elders,

Do well in school,

Go to college,

And get a good job.

I don’t think so,

Not for me, no thanks.

I say have fun, be happy

and that’s enough.

Eat and be merry, for tomorrow we die.

Do what you want to do,

Say what you feel,

And always, ALWAYS be yourself.

Devote your life to what you love,

And don’t be afraid to laugh.

Cry if you’re sad,

Smile if you’re happy,

And love yourself.

Live as if there were no tomorrow,

But love as if there were no end.

Live life.

Love life.
