This poem has special meaning to me. It's about loving someone completely opposite of you and coping with the different views you have. | |||
Two Sides of the Same Coin You have self-reproach, and make things simple. I have mistrusts, and make things difficult. You call us friends. I call us lovers. You discover danger, I discover bliss. You choose good times, I choose love. You desire real life, I desire the fantasy of life. You leave things up in air, a firm ground I stand on. You try to be good, while I'm naughty. You get down, I cry. You make me laugh, I make you think. You are a Republican, I'm a Democrat. We are two different people, with incompatible views. It's part of being human, and the nurturing from our parents. When it all boils down though, it's appealing to imagine, it's the conflicts which cause us to be extraordinary. Not only as individuals, but for each other. Because once you think about it. We're just two sides of the same coin. © November 30, 2007 by Lori Tweet
