A blessing can still make you cry

I stepped into her silhouette

A hazy dream of blue, awash in her sapphire velour

Shadows danced in her wake

Cast from the sparks and embers she creates

A world melted by her kiss

Healed by her embrace

All things that God meant to be beautiful pooled in her eyes

So angelic to see her face

All common sense abandoned, heart and soul exposed

Immersed in every moment, every synapse unclothed

A blessing be

She was to me

If only for a breath in time she had my heart to hold

To miss before you see

Means to ache once she departs

The unintended ashes lying at your feet

Still glow from her embers' warmth

If the true definition of pain is our separation from light

Then now I understand why so sadly long the night
