The sweet and fitting story of my life. | |||
Voiced in slow beguiling sympathies, Doubts fill my hollow pre-existence And return me to a question long denied. What worth this life of blue monotonies Hemmed within a void between a void, The plodding weary days outnumbered Only by intentions and defaults. I scratch the shallow surface of experience, Shallow yet but deep enough to drown And die by that with which I lived, The timid hand that holds the timid sword. Why struggle for the unseen shore, That distant swelling radiance of light, When in these troubled waters of despond To sink would seem both sweet and fitting, Worthy of the tag ‘potential wasted’ - The sweet and fitting story of my life.
