Self Analysis, in space and time, no hurry! | |||
Something Always Reminds Me Over in the corner Stands a six-foot cactus plant Impossibly, it tries to smile It's trying, but it can't ..................................... A glow of ghostly moonlight Floods the sterile empty room The silence pounding in my ears Evokes a dreaded doom .................................... Again the sultry whisper Assures my mental state “Go forward to the corridor Go forward to your fate” ...................................... I try to think of lessons learned Of what has gone before How human nature wills its way But I can't ignore that door ..................................... A clock is chiming somewhere close It soothes my rattled nerves Time has substance and yet it floats On silken swirling curves .................................... I see all this in solitude As always, I'm alone Step by step, reluctantly I venture toward the zone ..................................... The cactus bids me fond farewell The clock strikes one last note Her whispers urging me along To find the antidote ......................................... Could this be more than I can bear? I didn't choose this role But, I must admit responsibly I exist without a goal Tweet
