A DAY AT THE BEACH. | |||
The lifeguard sat in his favorite cahir in the watch tower, over looking the beach and the ocean. A faded sun unbrella kept him in the shade. The beach was busy, people were in the water and in the surf, and on the beach, thare were even some people at the small concession stand buying food. He sat up and looked out into the water, thare wer twenty five people swimming or floating in the water. The surf was calm so thare were no surfers. He sat back and relaxed a little. There had been reports of sharks near a beach in the south, and all lifeguards were on the look out. Execpt him, he knew that thare hadn't been a report of a shark attak, or sharks near this beach. In over two years, and in any way if a shark did attack some one, the chances of dieing were vary small, and if a person did die, the family had a body to burry. The lifeguard sat up agian and looked out into the ocean. He saw a man floating on a rubber tube, the man was clearly asleep, he had a straw hat pulled down to cover his eyes. He was driffting away form the group and out to sea. The lifeguard had no choice, he had to wake the man up, the air horn would dop the trick, and it wouldn't panic the other people for they knew about the horn and what it meant. He bent over and picked up the horn and sat back up, and looked for the man so he could blow the horn. The man was gone, the rubber tube was still thare but the man was gone. Thare were a lot of people in the water and not one of them had seen the man disappear. The lifeguard put down the horn and reached for the button to the siren, but hesittated, thare were children in the surf and if he pushed the button for the siren, the people would panic and run out of the water and trample the kids. He looked out into the water agian, his eyes widened with horror, thare was a woman paddling out on a surf board even though the waves were calm, she had a black bathing suit on, but that was not what was scareing him, thare was a shafow under the water and it was following the woman. The shadow was huge. He looked back to the surf the kids were still thare. He looked back towards the woman, and as he wachted a long thick tentacle came out of the water behind the woman, it paused for a second and then grabed the woman around the neck and pulled her under the water without a sound. The kids were out of the surf, and he pussed the button to turn on the siren. And as the panicked people ran out of the water. The lifeguard sat back in his cahir, under his unbrella, and silently wised for sharks. the end. Tweet
