Poem about a strange, ironic sight that I saw. | |||
Something funny about seeing a blimp float lazily over a cemetary. Maybe I'm warped or twisted or something But to see it's huge underbelly giving the illusion Of grazing the tops of trees that shade the dead Just tickles the funny bone within me To think of the gravestones down below Shadowed by a blimp baring advertisement The ones who are mourning for a moment Catching a glimpse of words that mean nothing It just is an irony that seems lost upon all Who would send a blimp over the world of the deceased It's not like their vision will take in the view Or their stomachs will be awakened for a one time afternoon meal Yet there it goes, giving off a slight hum Over the cemetary and on it's way And I'm not sure not a person noticed but me But maybe I'm just warped or twisted or something.
