Dreaming about the numbers attached to these works. | |||
Who is that luking behind that number? Who is that making that one number rise? Is it you, love? Are you reading your poem? Are you reading the pattern of my blood Splayed onto the wall, divining my meaning, Pondering your move? Are you reading it and sighing? Are the tears welling up in your eyes Like they do in mine when I think of you? Does it give you some small comfort knowing I'm still out here, Still calling your name in the night? Does it flex your muscles of regret Like mine do every day? Is it pushing you one step closer to me? Or are you just a figment of my imagination? Is this just random people drawn to the first work at The top of the list? Am I driving myself crazy dreaming up a phantom? I'm an optimist. I can always hope. And in my head I can hear you breathing, sighing And maybe even, crying, just a little. I hope it is you. I hope you are there. I hope. Tweet
