An oft-heard phrase | |||
Nothing Special There's nothing special about this street, And nothing odd about this town. There's nothing remarkable about this door, Or about the windows, staring down. And there's nothing peculiar about this hall, Or the woman standing silently there, And there's nothing uncommon in the little child, Who gazes up with unblinking stare. And there's nothing unusual in the way they sob, And cry, like so many before. And there's nothing special in the familiar phrase, "Mum, there's a policeman at the door." Tweet
