When you get used to someone you love waking up beside you for years, how do you feel when they are gone? | |||
Each Time I Wake In that too brief instant When on dark raven wings Dreams prepare to take flight And my hand slides blindly Along the walls of my mind Fumbling for the dread switch That opens sleep filled eyes, I trip over your warmth And I suddenly feel The rose petal softness Of your flesh against mine. The fullness of your kiss Is pure as spring lilies. The sweet musk of your scent Makes me stir deep inside. Your love spoons around me In the twilight of dreams My last thought of the night Is of our house and home. As the circuit completes, My first realization Is that I am sleeping Alone. Tweet
