Jessica hs a diconcerning dream and wakes up to remember Joey and his friends are in trouble. She arrives only in time to watch them die a rather hideous death. | |||
“Where have you been all night?” a husky voice asked from the living room. She jumped at the sound of a human voice, so unwanted at this moment. Why, when she needed to be alone, to think about things a bit, did everyone suddenly want to talk? “With my friends, why do you care?” she gasped out, annoyed that she had to deal with Steven on top of everything else. He just needed to let her be, let her go to her room and ask no questions. But she knew Steven wouldn't do this, he would pester her until he could the information that he wanted. But not today, she could not and would not deal with him. “Cause I care about your mother and you stressed her out. Jessica, she doesn't need this right now. You need to come home to her,” he explained in a calm, almost fatherly voice. He wasn't being aggressive, nor was he really attacking her. He wasn't accusing her of anything and he didn't sound upset but it still bothered her that he had said anything. He wasn't her real parent, he had no authority over her. He just liked to pretend and he needed to realize the truth. “Oh get over it. You're not my father so quit telling me what to do, I'll come home when I want to,” she growled, letting loose a bit of her anger. She could release it all upon him if he pushed the issue and at this moment, she would even though he was genuinely a nice guy. “Knock it off, I'm trying to deal with you as a mature adult,” he sounded sincere but she was angry that he was trying to assume a position that he would never have. He was not her father and he had no room to talk to her in the mannerism that he was. She was the queen of her decisions, and he was just some creep who married her mother and thought that gave him all the control in the world. “That must be hard since you are not a mature adult,” she retorted, hoping even though it was immature, that she could hurt him with her words. She just wanted him to leave her alone but since he was not going to that apparently, she was going to have to give him some grief. “Jessica, you will be home at a decent hour or there will be severe consequences,” he announced and she finally had enough. He had gone from decent to downright enraging, he was punishing her now? What gave him the right? Who did he think he was? She would never listen to him, never obey his commands, and never give him the respect that he supposed he deserved. “Oh screw you Stevie,” she spat and climbed up the stairs to her room. She slammed the door shut and locked it. She was so tired, drained completely of energy, and her neck was throbbing as if she had been hit. This had to be the worse day of her life, nothing seemed to be going her way. And to make matters worse, she had just hurt Steven when they were finally starting to get along. She wished that she could change things, start the day over, but she knew that was impossible. She dropped in her bed but then had trouble falling asleep. She kept seeing Brandon over and over again in her mind. She especially saw him sleeping, his head leaning against the pole so that he would not bother her. She heard her mother and Steven get into the car and listened to the motor as it faded into the distance. She assumed more tests and her mind turned over to all the fun times her and her mother had together. Then she began thinking about her father, her father who had ran away and never returned. Before she knew it, she was asleep. She stood in the bedroom again with Brandon, the candles the only light. They flickered casting odd shadows around the dark room and making Jessica think of monsters. Brandon kissed her neck and she felt his teeth sink deep into her flesh, deep into her blood. She bit his neck at the same time, and could taste the sweet but bitter, coppery flavor of his blood, and she liked it. She began to drink to fill this hunger inside of her and she discovered that she was not at all repulsed by what she was doing. Brandon raised his head as did she, and she could see her blood dripping from the corner of his mouth and could feel it trickling down into her clothes. She licked her lips and tasted his blood coating them and then he kissed her mouth, and it was alright. Suddenly, they were in hell, flames leaping around them and an angel in Click here to read the rest of this story (213 more lines)
