A poem about advice from a father to his son. | |||
Choose Your Battles Wisely J P St. Jullian Choose your battles wisely son, I think you ought to know When to make a deal of things Or simply let them go. For life is full of circumstance For men who like a row, But win the debate that's truly strong; That's what it's all about. I know that sometimes you young men Will want to prove a point, But learn to hold your tongue a bit Without getting out of joint. It's oftentimes the silliest of things That throws some men awry, But if the point isn't yours to prove, Just walk away, bidding trouble goodbye. And so, my son, you take this advice For whatever it may be worth, And when trouble rears its ugly head, Give it a very wide berth! Tweet
