A nostalgic poem in honor of grandmother. | |||
My Grandmother's Room by J P St. Jullian When friend's ridiculed me And life laid me low, My Grandmothers Room Is where I would go. No fancy furnishings, It was serene and plain, Just a few wooden pieces Was all it contained. My Grandmother's presence, Sitting there in her chair, Put my mind at ease When I would go there. Her grey hair would shine As she sat there in grace, With a smile fixed upon Her old wrinkled face. She'd talk to me sweetly As I sat on her bed, And tell me of hardships That might lay ahead. Her thin voice would waver, As she spoke to me so dear, And the wisdom of her years Was all mine to hear. She spoke of her dreams, Of suffering and pain, She spoke to me of Jesus, Praising his name. My happiest hours Were spent with her there, Just sitting on her bed While she talked from her chair. Grandmother's words helped me Down life's treacherous road. Her wisdom has helped me To bear heavy loads. I still go to her room When life gives me a low score, But my dear Grandmother Isn't there anymore. Tweet
