A poem inspired by my depression one summer at not being able to afford a vacation. | |||
VACATION by J P St. Jullian Lots of folk these days are going, On vacations far away, And on mountains and in valleys, They will rest and play. They'll travel all the scenic routes, With lots of picturesque scenes. They'll ride horseback through rocky canyons, And gaze into deep ravines. They'll wade in the cool clear waters, Of some distant babbling brook. And take some time to frolic and picnic. In a meadow or some shady nook. Oh how I wish that I were going, To some far off Malibu, And my wallet would permit me, Just a week or two. Tweet
