Everyone should, at some time in life, get a chance to view a meadow full of beautiful flowers!

Summer Flowers In A Mississippi Meadow

Oh how their names burst forth in mind boggling colors; 

In the inner eye of all beholders, looking, admiring. 

Poppies and Phlox, Petunias and Larkspur, 

A profusion of Roses, Nasturtiums and Cosmos. 

The Zinnias and Dahlias, the Four-O-Clocks and Daisies! 

Blossoming brilliantly in the warm summer sun, 

Bringing the bee, the moth, and the dazzling swallowtail! 

Oh, the birdcalls and the rhythms of nature, how they do echo 

As dusk falls ever so gently over the Mississippi landscape. 

Then out comes the Firefly, flitting about, glowing brightly! 

We are put to bed gently with the fragrance of honeysuckle 

And tucked in under fragile beams of exquisite moonlight 

Shining all around and over our summer gardens, 

Sealing in our fragrant and cherished potpourri of memories.
