This is a fiction story of two WTC employees who wanted to get new identites so they decided to be burried in the WTC rubble and live happliy ever after with their embezzled money they stole from their clients. Be careful what you ask for...you just might | |||
This is out of the realm of what I write but I had to let you know where are young adult minds are capable of creating. In their minds they got away with it, I changed the ending because I believe you get what you ask for. September 11, 2001, the day I died in the WTC tragedy. I couldn’t believe my eyes, I was talking to Tom, my best friend when we heard someone screaming its coming down, the WTC is falling. We both stood up and went running to the door of the bar, as I opened it I was pushed back inside by a woman who was running for her life screaming it’s falling down, oh my God, oh my God. Tom caught her just as she tripped over one of the bar stools, knocking both of them to the ground.. He got up, reached a chair for her, feeling it would be safer than sitting on a high bar stool. Tom got her calmed down and stated asking her what she was talking about as I went back to the door to see if I could see anything but all I could see thru the glass was total darkness and it happened to be one in the afternoon. I was afraid to open the door, I could here people in the darkness screaming, then sirens bellowing as if the were coming from every street. What had happened? What did she mean the WTC was falling? As I turned to go back to where Tom was I could hear the television, even above all the commotion outside I heard the a man saying two planes had crashed into the WTC. I still couldn’t believe it. Forgetting about Tom I walked straight over to the television and there it was, big as life, I saw with my own eyes, the WTC on fire. Watching in amazement I heard the door open and Fireman say, is every one ok? People started running up to him wanting to know what had happened. The fireman told us the WTC was hit by planes and asked us to stay inside and every thing would be ok. Tom comes to where I was sitting and starts telling me what the woman had told him. Four planes were hijacked, two hitting the WTC, one hitting the pentagon, and one crashed in an open field. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I was shocked, stunned, and I couldn’t move, I couldn’t take my eyes off the television. After about two hours, a policeman came into the bar to inform all of us it was safe to leave and that we all had to go because they were closing off the area. Tom and I started walking in the direction of our cars and were told we couldn’t go that way because there was nothing left as the WTC had fallen and the cars were buried under rubble. Not knowing what to do, we decided to walk. As we’re walking an idea struck me like a bolt of lightening. Tom and I had done something terrible and we did not know how to fix what we had done but this, this WTC thing was great. God thank you, thank you God is all I kept saying. Then a smile came across my face as I looked at Tom. I stopped, “Tom” I yelled, “I have the answer to all our problems”. It’s a great idea and it will work. Tom and I had met today to discuss what we were going to do about our problem but this, our prayers had been answered. What happened today was our way out. I suggested we get a room and stay there for a week to get things ready. Tom agree because I was the leader, I always managed to get us out of trouble. So we did, we got a room and hid out for the rest of the week, discussing our plans and following the tragedy on the television. Now it is the 18th of September and our plan was set, we would be off to Mexico. We would rent a car and go to the deepest part of Mexico where we would be safe. I had been following the news and they no more survivors not even bodies were being found, only the five the second day of the digging. They were loosing hope as each day went by. The plan couldn’t have been better. You see, Tom and I had been embezzling millions of dollars from our clients and this was the opportunity we needed to disappear. I thanked God we decided not to go to work that today was the day we had to do Click here to read the rest of this story (33 more lines)
