Oh to be like that ole dog. To be like a dog, maybe that is being close to and like God wants us to be. Take this adventure with me.

Man's Best ....Friend a Dog by  susystars 

Teach me some tricks about devotion, companionship, and most of all
unconditional love. 

Come on America, lets not fight like puppys amongst ourselves. Why can't
we all be like that ole dog? I think we can be, we're just stuck in a 
puppy stage. After all, we shit where we eat, we chew things up, we 
pick on our brothers and sisters, and most of all we beg for 
forgiveness, even though we knew better. Oh to be with that ole dog. 

Maybe it's time we grew out of the puppy stage. Maybe it's time we
became mans best friend, that ole dog, living just to love and loving 
just to live. Oh to be with that ole dog. 

That ole dog is like a cat, instead of having nine lives he has
unlimited cheeks. We can beat him every day and he comes back for more. 
One slap in the face turning his cheek. We can lock him in a car for 
the afternoon while we go to a nice air conditioned any where to do 
what ever it is we came to do and when we decide to go back he's 
watching every step we make towards the car, not because he's dying 
from heat exhaustion or so thirsty he can hardly bark but because he 
has missed us and he loves us unconditionally. Another slap, only the 
other side of his cheek. But look, he sits up wagging his tail looking 
at us with that unconditional love and yet again turning his cheek, 
ready for another slap. There isn't anything we can do to him that will 
ever make him not love us. Oh to be with that ole dog. 

This is what I call unconditional love. This is mans best
friend.....yet........he will do anything in his power to protect that 
love. Let some one or some thing come to harm this love and he is 
willing to die for it. He will kill to perserve that unconditional 
love. Oh to be with that ole dog. 

We're always turning things around, getting them backwards. Well here is
one that I hope you turn around and it feels right. God.....Dog maybe 
there's something to be said about wanting to be that ole dog. Oh to be 
with that ole dog. 

Man's best, friend a dog.....backwards....man's best, god a friend. Oh
to be with that ole God.
