Click here to read the first 75 lines of the story "You've already done it." "What?" "You've set God's plan in motion just by coming here with me." "Being here? What do I have to do here?" She spins around getting a look at everything. Unless Mr. Angel expects her to make a peace-wish in the fountain, there isn't much she can do for the world here...if she could at all. "You don't have to do anything here. I told you, you've already done it. You've fulfilled your purpose in life and you don't even realize it." He smiles. The nerve! He's twirling her mind in circles about destiny and crap...making her think she could be part of something big...confusing her to no-end...and he's smiling?! "I don't know what you're talking about." She turns away from him, trying desperately to put the pieces together. What could she have possibly done to have such a huge impact on the world? ...For God, even? "Would you like to see?" "See what?" She snaps. "What you've done for the future." "Look here" He gazes at the water and waves his hand over it. The fountain stops running. He seems to have paused the world. She sits down again, almost afraid, and looks perplexed at the suddenly-still and glossy water. It fogs then gets crystal clear like a brand-new TV screen. ~*~*~*~ She sees a scene from her life, not 30 minutes ago...both of them getting off the bus. They start to cross the road when a lady in an SUV slows down and blares her horn at them. The driver sees her run-off towards the fountain in the park, but whoever's controlling the 'camera' stays with the car. "Look at that girl's skirt! Now that's hot!" says the passenger, "I should get into fashion" "Yeah right...dream on, girl" *The water fogs, creating a blur...which clears up to reveal...* the passenger at a fashion show talking with magazine editors. *blur* her sketching a blue dress. *blur* the blue dress on a model at a photo shoot. *click* that picture on the cover of a magazine on display at a grocery store in Colorado. Blood trickles out from under him and spells out "sinner" *blur* News reporting the assassination of the president and the odd death of her killer. "It was at first said to be a coincidence, only six more people have died in the same odd circumstances on each of the following 6 days..." *blur* Scanning: pictures of newspaper clippings, people searching the internet to learn more, a map of the US showing where all of the deaths took place, drawing a giant cross by connecting the dots. *blur* People flock to churches. Millions turn to God. ~*~*~*~ "But I didn't do that!" "Yes, you did." "That's not all because of me...I just walked across the street for Heaven's sake! That's retarded!" "Without you, none of it will have happened. Hundreds of people have, and will later, play a role in making this a reality. If we took you out of the picture, it would all just fall apart." ~ Tweet
