went to Jess' this morning?”

“Yes, I believe I did.” So that was what he was fuming about. He thought
she was trying to advise Jess against him. She would have done that in
the past, she admitted, but how could he think she could still try to
betray him after all they've been through together. Where's trust in
that? “But you don't have to worry, I didn't –”

“What did you tell Jess?”

“The truth,” she answered cautiously, raising a brow at him.

“What did you tell her?” The desperate tone made her flinch. She delved
into the deepest recesses of her mind about what she told Jess that
might have struck Sebastian's pride. She couldn't remember anything.
That woman, she wouldn't have told her their secret if she would only
tell her on him. Their secret. Now she remembered. And he had every
right to be mad at her now. Sebastian hated other people controlling
his life and as much as she deny, with what she did, she was somehow
controlling both him and Jessica.

The moment he saw she recognized the problem, he nodded. “Yes, you're
right. She now thinks I'm head over heels in love with her!” he almost
shouted at her face.

“Well, aren't you?!” she countered. “You should be thanking me now,
instead of... You were worrying she wouldn't accept you before, weren't
you? Now she knew the truth. And she told me she loves you too so what
seems to be the problem? I know it seems like I was manipulating or
influencing her decisions. I'm sorry but if I knew this is what I'm
going to get in return, then--” She stopped when she saw the look in
his face. She lowered her voice and said, “I'm sorry if I've hurt you,
Sebastian. I was just trying to help”.

“That was barely what I call help!” he snapped. “And to think that she
wouldn't tell us on our parents. How could you tell her our secret?
What if the fifth doesn't go according to plan?”

“Well, don't be mad. I know Jessica. And the fact that she loves you
now, she would definitely consent to our agreement. She wouldn't tell
on us. I know her. We were classmates in high school, or did you
forget?”

He shook his head.

Then she gasped. “Oh God, don't tell me you're...” her voice cracked.
“in love with another woman. I thought you've changed, Sebastian.”
