After discussion in the forum regarding writing from the point of view of the opposite sex, I tried and failed. I tried again, having a man write and a woman respond. Does it work? Not really. You be the judge. | |||
Click here to read the first 75 lines of the story here I wonder about so many things. I know a thing or two about humbleness. I know what is unattainable and free. I know so much how some days I live a charmed existence and maybe it doesn't matter if I don't have the skill of an engineer or the intrigue of a scientist because I've got something; I get to feel something, I can neither describe it or paint it or prove how it was, is, or will be. It's just me, a common man in a privileged place and time. It's just me meeting you and not truly being able to tell you how I feel - like I'm not in command of my flight toward or away from you, like I'm a pilot in a new universe called ‘Juliet'. Dear Heart, (For that is what you are) You're a complicated but beautiful man. Sometimes I never quite know what it is you're trying to say. You know I read your words when I'm alone. Some might see in them sadness, but not me. I see achievement and joy. There is tragedy, for what life will not be touched by such an invasion? I want to feel the depth of your love, be excited by your touch. I want to learn to be a part of your life. Take a chance, Romeo, I'm no ordinary woman myself, I've touched depths and ridden on highs only a woman could understand. People like you and I, we would die for love. I have hidden both physically and emotionally for years. Lifted by your words I rise like the Phoenix, plunging back into life. Dear Juliet, Who or what I am is not important, what we do, what we learn, what we share, that's what is important. I did not come into your life simply to take the place of someone else. I come fresh and new and interesting. I think we were bound to collide in this space we call our world. I seek not to change you, simply to awaken and to grow with you; to love you for whom you are. I will challenge you, anger you, frustrate you and amuse you. Tonight, for it is that time, I will make love to you, and the ocean will hear our cries and the moon share our delight. This man who talks of magic, of creatures real and invented, has need to talk about his desires, his needs and his feelings. Tonight he will do so with your body under his hands. Tweet
