wasn't made in one accord.

{Blew love to the four winds.}

Having been bitten three times by the bug of Love, the woman was twice
shy. Scared to pursue love again, she locked her heart in a steel
enclosure and threw away the key. She made a life with man number two
and was proud of what she accomplished. This went on for six years. She
was content with life. And wouldn't you know it? Love decided to shake
things up a bit. A man walked into her life in tarnished armor and with
a beautiful soul. He had been hurt as many times too. He had been
looking for love in all the wrong places. Only to find out he was
throwing away pieces of himself with each new woman he met. He didn't
want a relationship, was the last thing he was looking for. But love
blossomed unexpectedly. One greater than both of them realized. The
wolf didn't like it.

mustn't be adored.

They didn't know what to do, was up in arms for the most part. They tore
at each other's heart and wanted to end the affair. The wolf was smart.
He played on the man being a gentleman. Worked on him through home
life, through work, anything to get the man to throw away love. The man
fought hard, the woman fought harder. She couldn't lose this new man,
couldn't afford to let go of Love's hand. She struggled and resisted
then decided to be his friend instead. She would rather be that, and
love him from a distance, than to cut out of his life completely. The
wolf tried again.

will go ignored.

The woman gave up. She would allow the man to make the decisions about
love and life, didn't want to step on any toes. The man said he wanted
to fix things at home, and couldn't because it wasn't good to end a
relationship while thinking of starting another. The woman agreed and
said it was fine. Scared as she was, she knew in her heart if it was
meant to be they would find a way. She set the bird free to see if it
would return, praying against fate she would win in the end. Not as a
life changing experience, the relationship couldn't have strings
attached. Just wanted whatever he was willing to give. She begrudgingly
agreed to let his heart heal.

can't be restored.

What happened to the man and woman? Well they've gotten behind their
walls again. Pledging their love for the other, but too scared to act
upon it. The woman worries about the future and the man can't let go of
the past. The woman thinks of could've beens. The man remembers the
good times. The woman longs for his touch. The man prays to never touch
again. The woman loves freely and openly. The man loves against his
will. They will never forget the other, or so the woman hopes. But as
with any love, they know what is right and what is wrong. No matter
where the lines are drawn, they have made promises to others, vows
which can't be broken easily or without consequences. They were made
with honor and are supposed to be cherished for life. Maybe one day it
may be different. Only the good Lord above knows what will happen to
them.
