Star looked slightly disappointed, but she was still happy all the same. ‘My very own dragon.' She thought. “Okay, so what do I have to do?” Star asked. “Well, you know how to wash dishes, right?” her father asked, and Star nodded. “Okay, then. You can wash dishes every other night, and help me around the house. So, if you wish, I'll give you a necklace that has a pouch on it so that you can carry your egg around in it.” “Sure. I would hate for it to hatch and me not be there. Thanks again.” Star replied. Her father got up and went to go find the necklace. While he was gone, Star stared at the egg. She could not believe that she had her very own dragon. In some part of her mind, she always knew they were real, but everything and everyone said that they never existed. She could almost imagine the look on their faces when they saw her own dragon. But they were all in another world. She carefully picked up the egg and held it in her hand. It felt so smooth and warm to the touch. Star even thought she saw it glowing a little around the edges. Her father came back and handed her a necklace made out of pure black leather with a green pocket attached to it. “And in case you're wondering, the egg IS glowing. It knows its owner. It took Raine's egg month's to glow. But that just mean's she didn't trust me. Look's like your's trusts' you.” He said. “Yeah.” Star said, taking the necklace and gently sliding the egg into the little pocket. It was the perfect fit. She drew the little strings on the top and the pocket closed, holding the egg inside. She then put the necklace around her neck and felt the warmth of the egg against her chest. “Okay, now that that's done, want to help me gather the eggs? And I saw some tomato's yesterday that should be ready by now.” Christian said, waiting for an answer from his daughter. “Sure, I'd love to help. It would give me a chance to finally take in some of my surrounding's, anyway. I never got the chance to really look around yesterday.” Star said. She had always been a curious child, and she wanted to see the outside in this strange new world. “Alright, then. Let's go.” Said her father and he lead the way out the backdoor, the same back door her mother had told her to leave out of just yesterday, but yet this door now was in a different world. Tweet
