Click here to read the first 75 lines of the story fell asleep. When he woke up he found that each of the jeeps was full of gas and the guns were full of ammunition. The keys were even in the jeeps! Instructions were posted inside the jeep about what areas needed to be “hit” and what needed to be killed. None of the streets was real, and it referred to Plebeians often. Breiod decided to explore the warehouse. He found a backroom. In it were a filing cabinet, a chair, and a desk. On the desk was a letter. “In order to remain in power, we must quash the Plebian movement. If those rebels spread word that the outside is safe, the city will be empty in a day. Do whatever necessary, use whatever you need, but have them all dead by January 3rd 2018.And By the way, Congratulations on covering up the scout parties' discoveries. Signed, President Margeip Gisoth.” December 31st 2017 10:49 P.M. Greg stood in a room with hundreds of other soldiers. This mission was beginning to scare him. He was always a failure in life, so he had joined the army, but he was beginning to feel that this was a mistake. After years of getting paid for doing nearly nothing, he now had to do serve his city. According to the general, some rebels had established a new city in the outside. This, to Greg's surprise was actually safe. But no one was supposed to know that. That was their mission. Silence the rebels. By killing them. They called themselves Plebians and they were the new public enemy number one. The soldiers were outfitted with weapons, and loaded into jeeps. Greg stared out in font of him and mentally prepared for combat. December 31st 2017 10:50 P.M. Breiod hid, even though he was wear a police office's uniform, the soldiers would still probably kill him. They streamed in by the hundreds and boarded the jeeps. Breiod snuck on to the back of the last one in the exit line, and hoped for the best. The streets were clear, so no one saw him clutching on. He saw the edge of the city nearing, and the gates opening. “Here we go,” he muttered to himself and the jeep entered the outside. Even though he knew the outside was safe, he couldn't shake the feeling that he was entering death. It did not take long to reach the Plebian base, but when they got there, something was wrong. It was on fire. December 31st 2017 11:07 P.M. Something wasn't right. Even from the back of the jeep, Greg could see bright flames and smoke coming from the rebel base, and heard gunfire and screams in the background. A tight feeling entered Greg's gut as the jeep approached the low wall. There was blood all over t. The gate was broken in burnt sizzling pieces. The jeep went inside and revealed a flaming city of chaos. The top gunner fired like crazy, and killed the rebels around Greg. But most were already dead, and had gouge-marks all over their body. The jeep in front was suddenly blown away, killing all inside. Greg's jeep stopped suddenly, as a fragment broke the windshield and smased the driver's head. Greg jumped out and was immediately confronted with a new enemy. It was a twisted mutation of humanity. The government of the city thought them dead long ago. They were formed during the nuclear war. They were ruthless killers, designed by an old country, the USA, to combat the Russian Alliance, in 2009. Instead the destroyed their controllers and most of the world. Greg emptied his clip into the mutant in front of him, and turned to find a horde of them destroying the jeep. The gunner, which was strapped in, was eaten alive. Greg could still hear the poor man's screams as he ran for his life. December 31st 2017 11:12 P.M. Breiod was out of breath. The jeep he was on had just stopped, and so he had ran for cover. A horde of strange mutants had appeared, and they were rampaging across the ruined city. He found shelter in a ruined villa. A flaming jeep rolled by, crawling with mutants. Breiod had heard of these creatures, but they were thought to be all dead. Their presence resembled the possibility of radioactivity. Maybe the outside wasn't safe after all. Breiod saw an abandoned jeep a few hundred feet in front of him. He ran for it. Nobody seemed to notice him. He hopped into the driver's seat. Some soldiers ran for the jeep, hopeful to get a ride. There were three of them. Two were holding the third, which was bleeding from the stomach. “Get aboard!” he yelled, “Hurry!” They climbed in and Breiod slammed on the pedal. Away from the burning Plebian city they rode, and to the safety of their own city. Little did they know about the extra passenger under the jeep. December 31st 2017 11:15 P.M. Greg was hunkered down in a bombed out building, and waited out the next horde of mutants. He was nearly out of ammo, and very tired. He got a glimpse of a workable jeep, and sprinted for it. On the way, he tripped. Falling to the ground, he saw a bloody police officer reach it first. “Dammit!” he thought, and pulled himself up. A mutant was in front of him, and it roared spittle all over his face. Before Greg could shoot it, it swung its claws and tore through his gut. Gunfire rattled, and the mutant fell. Two soldiers helped him to the Jeep. “Get aboard!” the police officer yelled, “Hurry!” He pulled himself aboard, and rested. When he opened his eyes he saw the looming gates of the city. They opened, and Greg prepared to get out. However, as he stood up, a disfigured hand broke through the floor of the jeep, and grabbed his foot. He fired his weapon at the hand and ran for his life, while clutching his bleeding gut. A mutant fell on his back, and he screamed as it began to gnaw away his flesh. The last thing he saw was the feet of hundreds of mutants running amok. Still barely alive, the sharp pain was slowly erased by a numb, warm feeling. Greg happily accepted his death. He never noticed his own screaming. December 31st 2017 11:39 P.M. Breiod pulled the jeep into the waiting room of the city. He jumped out, and approached the inner city gates. He heard a panicked yell and gunfire. Whirling around, he saw the wounded soldier scrambling from the jeep, only to be assaulted from the top by a mutant. As the screaming soldier went down, a tremendous explosion blew the gates open and mutants rushed in. They leaped on top of men, tearing away their flesh. Breiod picked up a dropped rifle, and ran to defend the inner gate. But the swarm was too big. Mutants leaped over Breiod's head and killed the men behind him, while others attacked from the front. Tanks rolled out of sheds, firing continuously. Breiod ran back to his jeep, and did not stop firing. He reached the top mounted gun, and poured bullets into the teeming mass. But more kept coming. One particular mutant leaped onto Breiod's back, and tore off his head, before continuing on towards the gate. One of the mutants had found a bomb, and blew into the inner city. December 31st 2017 11:57 P.M. President Margeip Gisoth watched from his window at the events unfolding in the city below him. The tidal wave of mutants charged the city, and fires started everywhere. Gunfire and screams, smoke and death filled the air. Margeip had never intended it to end this way. He thought the Outside was safe, and that he needed to protect his power. All his scientists had proven the mutants dead, and he did need to protect the city, by silencing fools who wished to return to the wasteland. These reassurances did not ease his gut, and as the mutants reached his house, he sat down and sighed. They tore down walls, and killed his guards. They broke down his doors and devoured him as well. And as the New Year came, humanity went. The End Tweet
