A new genre for me, but I wanted to try my hand at it. Let me know what you think.

church building allows us to break down our walls and be weak; because
we know there is one who's strong then any of us. We don't have to
smile in the presence of the Lord, for He knows what's in our hearts.
Even if they are broken, God has the power to mend them. He has the
power to let us love each other and ourselves again. He has the
strength to let us stand on our own two feet. He has the love to make
us whole again.

“Is there anyone who's been there?

Are there any hands to raise?

Am I the only one who's traded,

In the altar for a stage?

The performance is convincing,

And we know every line by heart.

Only when no one is watching,

Can we really fall apart,

But would it set me free,

If I dared to let you see,

The truth behind the person,

That you imagine me to be?

Would your arms be open,

Or would you walk away,

Would the love of Jesus,

Be enough to make you stay?”

The woman considers the way her life is like a stage. She acts the way
people expect her to act. She moves through life and doesn't feel the
things around her. She hasn't raised her hands and praise the Lord
Jesus Christ in so long, she doesn't even remember what it feels like
to be washed in His spirit. Only one person has the power to have her.

Her role in life should be rewarded with an Oscar. She has convinced
everyone she's well. She's made it known she can go on with life
without anyone. She doesn't have a man, children, or any family left.
She has cut everyone out of her life so she could deal with the demons
in her own way. She's allowed herself to be a one woman show. But, when
the curtains go down and she's alone in her house. The woman cries for
the times she's missed out on. For the last few months, this hasn't
worked.

She prays to God that he can make her the person she was before. She
hopes for the healing powers of His love to permit her to confront the
truth she's been hiding behind. There is a woman inside that Jesus
would be proud to recognize. There is only one cure, allow Jesus to
find out who that woman is.

The woman falls to the floor and throws her arms wide open to pray. “I'm
here! Help me!” She cries. She experiences the darkness come alive. She
undergoes a pain like she's never felt before. She screams in agony.

“I can't do this without you. Please rescue me from this torture.
Release my soul from this anguish. Let me be whole again.” She prays to
the Lord above.

A feeling of peace comes over her. She feels like a baby being born. She
senses her soul come alive. “Praise Your name to the highest!” She
cries out. She lays down on the floor sobbing. She lets the past go
and lose sight of it. She allows the love of Jesus to wash her sins
away.

How long she lays there isn't certain. But, a man walks up to watch
attentively for a minute. “Ma'am? Are you okay?” He whispers.

“I am now.” The woman smiles the first real smile in ten years. “I'm
free!” She cries as she jumps up running out of the church laughing.

The woman has no name for a reason. That reason is because this isn't my
story. Is it yours? One day soon, it will be mine too! For I know the
power of Christ and I feel His love washing my sins away.
