When high-school started they went to the same school. Quickly their friendship grew. Riley met Stephanie in his junior year of high-school. He asked her to homecoming and since then they seemed to be in love. The Next Day: Brent woke up and got ready for school because it was Friday. He got to school and went straight to Stephanie's locker. "Why did you come today?" It was Karen. Karen was Brent's next best friend after Riley. Karen and Brett met in fifth grade when Karen moved from Texas. She was actually a year younger than Brent but she had skipped third grade. He had once told her he loved her, she simply laughed and walked away. Karen became Stephanie's good friend and was on the soccer team with her. "Someone needs to clean out her locker." "Oh. You know we are all sorry. We all miss her." "Yeah I know." Karen had never seen Brent like this. He was usually much more responsive, much more up-beat. But then she realized that the one person he loved the most had just died. Karen peered into his yellow eyes and seemed to find a glimmer of hope. Almost as if he believed that someday she would come back. Karen and Brent walked through the halls together. A lot of people came and greeted Brent with a hug or, "I am sorry." After school Brent drove his Jetta to Stephanie's parent's house. He dropped off Stephanie's things. He went home and just laid there waiting. Waiting for something to happen. That something wouldn't come for a few days. Tweet
