their minds. A kid took a seat in front of Jason, and looked straight
forward. Jason wanted to meet new people, so he nudged him on the
shoulder and said " Hi, I'm Jason, who are you?" The kid turned around
angrily and said "Who the fuck do you think you are?" in a loud voice.
Suddenly, Jason's shirt sleeve caught fire, and the whole class watched
in fear. Dr. Densen rushed into the room, and extinguished the fire
almost instantly. "Bruno." said Dr. Densen in a reprimanding
voice,"What have I told you about using your powers on other people?"
"Sorry." said Bruno. "Jason, I am going to warn you. You must be
careful around other student's here, because some of them can't control
their powers as well as you can." "Yes sir." replied Jason in his
normally obedient voice. Well time passed on and Jason began to fit in
pretty well in his new home. One day, however, he met someone who
changed his life. It had been four years since he came to the school,
and he had another year to go. He was eating lunch in his normal spot
in the school's cafeteria, when suddenly a beautiful young lady sat
down at his table. Jason thought to himself in his mind "Damn she's
hot." "So you think I'm hot?" she said in an inquisitive tone. "When
did I say that?" Jason replied. "I can read minds, and I hear exactly
what you're thinking." "Is that the only power you have?" asked Jason.
"No", she replied, "I can also use mind control on people, but I
haven't done that in a long time." "So you can read minds and control
them. How nice." he replied jokingly. "Reading minds is good, but
controlling them isn't", she explained. "If I wanted to, I could turn
you into my slave, but I don't want to do that.", she said. "I would
be your slave any day." replied Jason in a joking manner. " Trust me,
you don't want to be my slave, because when I'm controlling minds, I'm
an entirely different person." "What do you mean?" he asked. "With my
powers, I have a dark side. I am normally a good person, but when I'm
with someone, I turn into a controlling bitch.", she said sadly. "So
what are you saying?" he asks. "I know you like me, and I like you,"
she replies,"but I can't hurt you like that." I think it would be best
if we were just friends because if you get too involved with me, you
will be miserable for the rest of your life." "Okay", he said
disappointedly. "So what is your name?", he asked her. "My name is
Lana." she replied. So time went on, and he got to know her well, and
he knew he was in love. He professed his love to her on several
occasions, and she told him the same story every time. Graduation was
drawing near, and he knew he wouldn't be happy unless she decided to go
out with him. It was two nights before graduation, and Jason was
anxious. He was having the normal conversation with her, and he asked
her the same question he'd been asking for the last year or so. "Will
you go out with me?" he asked in his usual tone. "Look, Jason, I've
already told you. You don't want to spend the rest of your life
miserable." " I don't care.", he replied, "because I know that I want
to spend the rest of my life with you no matter what the circumstance."
Finally, she gave in to him, and agreed to go out with him.
Graduation came and it was time for Jason to return home. Jason had
not seen his mother since he left that day when he was thirteen, and
his mother greeted him with a hug. He upstairs to his room only to
find it was used for storage. His mother cleared out a spot in the
living room for him to sleep, and he slept there every night he was
there. A few days after returning home, Jason heard the doorbell ring
as he awoke. He went to answer the door, and to his surprise it was
Lana. She greeted him with a kiss, and he invited her inside. "I got
some good news", she said to him with a smile." I got an apartment down
the street from here." " That's great", he replied. As time went by,
he found himself at Lana's apartment more and more, and it wasn't much
later that he moved in with her. One day he come in from work, excited
as usual, and told Lana that some friends of his wanted him to go on a
ski trip with them. "You're not going." she said in a low tone. "Why
not?" he asked. "Because I want you here with me." she replied in an
even lower tone. He just played it off like she was mad, and prepared
to go skiing anyway. Two days later it was time for him and his
buddies to set forth for the mountains. As he was preparing to go out
the door, Lana stopped him and in an angry voice said "I told you you
weren't going." "Well, I said I was.", said Jason in a smartalec tone.
"I said no!" she screamed in his face, and at that moment a force
controlled him to sit down. He tried to get up, but he couldn't, and
soon she sat on top of him. He eventually quit trying, finally the
force let go of him. "Unless you want the same thing to happen again",
she said, "I would suggest you do what I say." He now understood why
she had warned him all along, but he knew it was too late. Pretty soon
he dwindled into a mindless zombie, with no mind of his own. He
doesn't leave the apartment anymore, because she won't let him. He
wouldn't listen, and this was how he ended up. This my friend is the
magician's downfall.
