A brief look into a book I was reading, and the affects on my interpretation of real life situations. | |||
Click here to read the first 75 lines of the story amusement, but I dare say that Prison Break is not one of these hollow shows. Whether her death was necessary as part of the plot or as a need of the real-life woman who played her character (perhaps she simply wanted to explore other job offers) is part of the equation, and yet the fact is that there is a message strong enough that a man accentuated it with the death of a heroic character, not merely in the implication of her death, but by actually showing us her bullet-laden body upon the floor with blood still spilling from the wounds. ***** And to think that I had learned not to cry, not to feel, to detach from this visual imagery, to lay in comfortably apathy. If this was a real life event, there would be little point in tears; they would not bring her back to life or finish her life quest for her. And yet in this instance it has sucked me into the show even further, now hoping that justice is finally delivered. I actually have some hope for this new FBI agent, although he might just be a paid employee working for the "dark side." With real life examples of pain and suffering, there is a chance to act rationally. Either to feel the pain empathetically and to move to correct the situation, or to admit defeat (in which case there may or may not be reason to subject one self to the pain of others) and move along with one's own life. This is not, by any means, an end to this exploration. It is, rather, a beginning of a life long shift to wonderment, openness, action, and careful examination on a conscious level (so as not to allow these violent images to permeate my subconscious). Once I finish the book (by the end of this month) I'll post more thoughts on the matter and a brief evaluation of the book. submitted from www.davezoom.com Tweet
