Click here to read the first 75 lines of the story While Angel, Lisa and around 50 kids were laughing and pointing at me, he was trying to get his foot out from under my face without falling on top of me. Yep, you guessed it, I landed on his foot. So as he helps to lug me to my feet (remember the double digits--) I am not only about the shade of a red apple, but I have the imprint of the top of a Sketcher in my face. That is the first time I saw him. He is around six feet tall. He had brown wavy hair and big blue eyes. Well maybe they seemed big because of the way he was looking at me after I landed on his foot. Anyway, he was probably the cutest guy I had seen in a long time. Even if his hair was a bit long, his shirt was wrinkled and he had a tear in the knee of his jeans. Of course he asked me if I was ok, and I mumbled something about being fine. Angel took that moment to announce to him that I should be fine, that me falling on my face is a very common occurrence for me. Of course she smiled, stepped in front of me and held out her hand as she said, “Hi, I'm Angel.” Lisa is at my side, holding my arm and looking for blood. I am looking at the floor and wishing the ground will swallow me up. He shook Angel's hand and told her his name was Greg. He asked her if she thought I was ok, and she said, “It would take a bigger fall than that to send Bella to the hospital.” I just kept walking forward and did not look back. All I wanted to do was get out of the mall and away from the laughing. Greg asked me again, “Are you sure you are ok.” I told him-in these exact words-“I'm fine, I hope I did not hurt your shoes.” Then I just kept walking toward the exit as he laughed at that comment. When I got outside, I hit my forehead with my hand (big mistake, still had the imprint of the shoe there and it kind of hurt) and said to anyone who was listening, “I hope your shoe is ok---well that made me look like the mature, intelligent woman I am”. In the car all Angel could talk about is how handsome Greg was, how sweet he was to be concerned about me, yada yada yada. I was just glad I would never see him again!! At least I thought I would never see him again. A little over a week later, I was doing the weekly grocery shopping with the princess. Of course I had forgotten something, so as I walked backward to the isle I needed I was telling her to stay in line with the buggy. I noticed her eyes get real big and she yelled, “MOM, look out!” Of course it was to late. All double digit of me hit something, or should I say someone, at full backward speed. Not only that, but I could feel something very cold running down my back. As I looked over my shoulder I was saying to myself, “please don't be some old person that I have just knocked over and caused them to break a hip.” No, that would not be my luck, my luck is that it was the “Prince”. Not only had I ran into him, I had pushed the cup he was drinking out of into his face, thus explaining the cold sensation going all down my back. Could it have been water----of course not, it was a chocolate milk shake. There I stood, in a off white skirt and pink sweater from work that is now covered in chocolate milkshake all down the back of it. There he stood, in khaki pants, a light blue button down, and a large chocolate blob on the front it and chocolate running down his chin. His eyes are closed and I can see him mouthing 1—2—3—4—Well I wonder if I can duck down one of the isles before he opens his eyes when the Princess comes running over with our buggy yelling, “Mom, you have just ruined Mr. Brown's clothes. Now I will never pass English.” My first thought is, “of course, the princess is worried about herself, not the two people that have just collided with each other.” Then my second thought is, “Wait, isn't Mr. Brown the old man who tells corny jokes that the kids all laugh at because they feel sorry for him---“ Well at hearing the princess's cry, Mr. Brown opens his eyes and I can not tell if he is going to hit me or scream at me. He looks from me to the princess and then back to me. Then he starts to laugh. Well this makes the princess laugh, and that makes me laugh. The manager of the grocery store comes up to us and ask if we are ok, and none of us can answer him. When we finally get calmed down enough to answer him, he is almost to the point of throwing the three of us out of the store for causing a scene. Mr. Brown first tells the Manager that we are fine, then apologizes for the mess. Then he assures the princess that her English grade will not be effected by this incident. As he is wiping the chocolate milkshake from his chin with the sleeve of his shirt, he says, “So Ms. Bella, we meet again.” I start to apologize for ruining his clothes and he reminds me that mine look a lot worse than his do. By this time I have completely forgotten anything but how blue his eyes are. I stand there dumbly staring at them when the princess asked where I had met Mr. brown before. Well, Mr. Brown explains to her our first encounter at the mall and this sends the princess into another fit of laughter. I ask her what is so funny and she gives me one of them “mom please” eye rolls. I offer to pay to have Mr. Brown's clothes cleaned, and he stops me in the middle. “First off, I am Gregg after 2:45 pm. and secondly this accident was as much my fault as it was yours. I was not looking where I was going.” I tell him again that I am sorry and try to get the princess to head back to the check out line. Just when I turn my back to him, he asks, “Bella, would it be possible for me to see you again?” I look over my shoulder and ask him if he is willing to take out an extra life insurance policy? Now here is the real dilemma. YES I want to see him again---HELLO, HE IS GEORGOUS---, but why would he want to see me again? If I do see him again, what will I do that time to make a fool out of myself? Is it ok to have butterflies in my stomach over my daughter's English Teacher? What do you think? Tweet
