Shina is an interesting twenty one year old, unlike most adults, she knows beings like Santa and the Easter Bunny exist. Because of her knowledge and special gifts, she gets conned into many "missions". | |||
Click here to read the first 75 lines of the story the orange fell forgotten from her hands. "Oh my goodness," the little girl squeeked, her voice more mature than such a young child should have, "Who are you and can you tell me where Connie is?" "Uh," Shina shook her head to help dispell some of the disbelief, "I'm her roommate and she's gone to class. Can I help you?" The little girl sat on the floor and put her head in her hands, "This is awful, absolutely awful. Her little sister sent me for help and now I can't even find her. What am I going to do?" "Well, tell me what's going on and I will do my best to help," she rose from the couch and strode over to the young girl. After years of experience, she didn't even try to touch the girl, she knew that her hand would just pass through. "I'm Agnora, Becky's imaginary friend, and Becky is Connie's little sister. Becky's been kidnapped by their uncle and Connie's the only one that Becky knew could see me. You've got to find Connie and tell her to get the police to her uncle's trailer. Otherwise," the little girl shook her head furiously, "Who know's what he'll do to Becky. He's not a good person at all, in fact, he's a really bad one." For a moment, Shina didn't move, stunned by the news. Only on rare occasion had she been asked to help one of the beings but never before had it been such a dire situation. Then she moved into action, grabbed her cell phone and text messaged "Emergency" to Connie's cell phone. Hopefully she saw it cause otherwise, she didn't know how to reach her. The girl disappeared, she assumed to go comfort Becky, so she sat back down on the couch. How old was Becky that she still had an imaginary friend and what kind of uncle did the girls have? Suddenly she realized how else she could reach Connie, what an idiot she was. Quickly she ran into the kitchen area and began to look up the number for one of the school's administrators. At that moment, her cell rang, it was Connie. Quickly, she shared the story of Agnora coming to her and what she had stated. By the end of their conversation, Connie was in a frantic state of mind and got off the phone so quick that Shina recognized the click of the phone hanging up before she realized her friend was gone. A few minutes later, Connie called back and was practically screaming, "They're not asnwering their phones, they're not answering. I can't get a hold of them." "Hey calm down," Shina insisted, holding the phone away from her ear, "Why don't you call the police and let them know?" "You don't understand, my uncle's trailer is near impossible for family to find. They'll never get there before he does something to my sister. Oh my god, he's gonna do something bad to my sister cause I can't get a hold of my parents. They won't answer their damn phones," she was now sobbing hysterically and Shina was at a loss as to what to do. Never before had such a situation presented itself and it was difficult to think under such pressure. Suddenly Connie blurted, "We've got to go there, we've got to stop him. Please help me, we can't let him hurt her. She's an innocent, just a baby really, it would destroy her." Shina's mouth spoke without her permission, "Of course I'll help, come get me." Once again, she received a phone hanging up rather than a proper farewell but she barely noticed. What the hell had she been thinking... agreeing to go to a disturbed sounding kidnapper's house because the police would be unable to find it? It sounded like something straight out of a horror movie, one of those where everyone dies before the good guys get there. But she had agreed to go and she wasn't one to go back on her word. Tweet
