Angie thought she had it perfect, the black rose was to change it all. It lay on her pillow with petals of silk and thorns with tainted promises on it's stem, she couldn't resist it. | |||
Click here to read the first 75 lines of the story "Ha, that mere joke. You call that love? You do not love each other, you adore each other in the innocent puppy dog love of youth, you have no idea what love is," the voice spat. Anger flared up again but it was tinted with indignition at the truth being spoken, "You have no idea what you're talking about. I don't even think you're real. I think you're something created by whatever was coating the thorns." "I was coating the thorns, I was waiting for you. You know what I say it is true and that is what bothers you the most. Come with me, accept me and what I say," a rose appeared in her hand, the black petals looking as smooth as velvet, the stem now clear of thorns. "I don't think so," she spat and dropped the rose then ground it beneath her foot. The voice roared in anger and her head throbbed painfully, but she continued to grind the rose into oblivion, taking delight in the obvious rage it pulled out of the strange entity. "You don't know what you're giving up," the voice groaned and suddenly she was back in her room, curled up on her bed, the rose laying on the floor. Outside of her window, she saw a shadow leaving and she knew it was whoever had slipped her the drug on the rose. However, she felt relief as well as anger at the mysterious admirer, she knew what he said was true. She did not love Steve, nor had she ever, she did adore him and loved the security of the relationship. Then she wondered if perhaps the whole situation had been in her mind, something to help her finally face the truth. Though, she had the feeling that she would never know. Tweet
