Once upon a time a very long time ago a woman sat down next to me in a bar and asked me to tell her the story of my lives... | |||
Click here to read the first 75 lines of the story nose at her though I'm not sure if she noticed for I was still watching her in the mirror only and not really looking at her. "Ah yes plastic surgery is a wonderful thing is it not? Of course I must tell you sir that I am only the youngest one to ahve started watching you. We've kept a close eye on you since you came here. Its become a sort of family tradition. Makes a person a little sad you know to think that we are so wrapped up in watching you that we would have done it for at least the last 237 years. Of course you had allready been here for a time when we started to keep track of you." "Sounds interesting indeed. Perhaps it is time that you found a new hobby. I believe that stocking people is against the law." I dug the same amount of money out of my pocket that I had been doing for years now and tossed it counter next to the unstarted drink. "So you are admiting that you are that old?" She dashed after me. I noticed for the first time that she had ordered nothing to drink, the drink she had lifted belonged to the man next to her. Meaning that she was never overly drunk unless had came in drunk but I doubted it. I would most definitly have to get a slightly large warning light in the back of my mind that little red light just didn't seem to be doing the trick any more. "No I can see that you have played this game before. We could spend the rest of the night talking and in the morning you would have told me nothing more creditable then I allready know." "You seem to have it in your mind that I wish to speak with you and that I find your company I'm not sure perhaps enjoyable. May I clearly state that I would like it if you would leave me alone but I can see even now by the hardening of your eyes and the fact that you have tightened her teeth together that you are set on this and as I attempt even now to presure you into further leaving this topic you will most likely to simply continue on with it further. So let us go some where that you can ask your questions and as you have said I can avoid them." I put an arm around her shoulder and turned her towards a puplic park. "No, I think I'll sit and let you tell me all about yourself." "Do I know you?" "No. Put I know a great deal about you Mr Sinclair." "Ah, Sinclair. That was a great many years ago wasn't it?" "Over 150 years I'm surprised you remember." "I never said I remembered anything I simply said that I had herd of the name." "You are not new to this game." "Your family has been aproaching me for years Joanne. I'm not new to the questions you ask. Perhaps I would enjoy if you told your daughter to collect stamps. Shake my life up a bit by skipping a generation." "Why would I do that Mr. Sinclair?" "Most vampire hunting families like to take a break every now and then so that they may have luxury of saying in future generations well at least our great grand mother Sara was not crazy." With that I remember turnign away and walking off. I'm sure she wanted to follow, they alwasy do but so far none in that family have been strong enough to. I suppose some day they will. Perhaps even this Sara girl whom I affraid did not turn from the path of her family will have that strength. I don't know and I don't suppose that it really matters either. All I trully care to find out is what the hell was in the shot glass that night. I suppose it would have been whiskey as i orginially thought for I have been ordering a shot of whiskey every night since this place became a bar and that was a great many years ago perhaps about the time Joanne's family began to watch for me. No it had to have been after that for her grandmother who first took notice had been a nurse when this had been a hospital. Yes I suppose as I looked into my shot glass filled with whiskey that I would not have deviated from the same drink I had been ordering for some time. Tweet
