sun began to go down and there was still no sign of Kathy. Angus
walked Pat back home and they searched the ranch. They feared she had
met the same fate.

Angus and Clyde stopped by the ranch in the morning to get Pat. Their
search would cover the area were Kathy was the day before. He told Pat
not to stray to far from him. They followed Kathy's tracks until the
just suddenly stopped. They decided to continue in that direction and
fan out a little bit.

Pat had the feeling someone was following her, though she didn't see or
hear anything. Suddenly everything became dark for Pat and she felt
like she was being dragged across the ground. Then it stopped and she
heard a door open. Pat was thrown into a hole and to her surprise
there was Dotty, Kathy and Darlene.

Angus called for Pat and heard no answer. He and Clyde went back to
were she was looking and found her tracks. They followed them until
they ended, but he noticed a strange indent in the dirt continuing from
there. They follow it and the indent abruptly stopped. It was his
fear that they had now lost Pat.

Angus decided to wait there for a little while. A raccoon made its way
out of a hole just a little ways up. That seemed strange to him
because it was daytime and raccoons only came out at night. He waited
for it to leave and approached the hole.

He looked down the hole and a raccoon tried to bite him. Angus jumped
back and five raccoons came out of the hole. They showed their teeth
to him and he started moving back as they slowly stalked him. Out of
the bushes came Clyde. He showed them his teeth. They didn't want any
part of this big dog. Clyde ran to the hole so they couldn't go back
in. The raccoons didn't want to run because they were afraid Clyde
might chase them.

Angus went to the hole and looked down it again. He saw a small door
there. Angus slowly opened the door and called out. Pat heard his
voice and ran to the opening. She was so happy to see Angus and told
the others to come out.

Pat asked the raccoons why they had done this. They were quiet for a
minute until Clyde growled at them. They told her that they were tired
of the bunnies getting all the attention on Easter. The thought if
they took the bunnies away then they could take over. She told them
that nobody ever heard of the Easter Raccoon and it would have never
worked.

That day the raccoons and the bunnies decided they would work together
making the baskets. They raccoons seemed quite content with that
arrangement.

The years went by and they all worked together preparing for Easter.
After all that time, there was still the Easter Bunny.
