um...a story... | |||
Click here to read the first 75 lines of the story the ugly basketball guy came. I remember, once, when there was a hoop set up in back of the pick ‘n’ pack, we would shoot at it and miss, and trip over the ball, and fall flat on our faces and laugh like hell, even though we were knee deep in rotted cans of tuna. Molly’s mama works at the pick ‘n’ pack, but she goes shopping at the ninety nine cents store. I remember Molly telling me once, before she started lying. I even saw her there, Molly’s mother, buying cabbages, all flirty with the store clerk. Mama sends me there sometimes, to buy books for school. I am home schooled. Molly’s mama flirts with all the guys. I even saw her flirting with the Satan worshiper, once. Maybe that’s where Molly got that. When she was with him, I remember, they was listening to the mambo number five on the boom box, and they was dancing together, ‘cept it didn’t look like dancing. It looked more like they was imitating chickens (they got those at the pick ‘n’ pack, too. Live ones.) Yeah, so Molly lies, and yeah, so she hates her mother, and ate my dolls when we was little and all those other things she does, but I like being her only friend. Because she’s my only friend, too.
