Click here to read the first 75 lines of the story hand around it as he steadied himself, his vision returning and the confusion receding, all that was left was a throbbing pain in his head. He warily approached the door to the next room, the silent warning yet again being sounded in his mind, yet he ignored it. Again unarmed he approached the door and opened it, a mixture of curiosity and fear overcoming him. It slowly creaked open. The sounds had ceased, the room was empty but for one figure. Seated in the corner leaning upon the wall was a man, wounded, beaten. ‘Run Wildern,’ the man shouted, his breathing in short quick gasps, ‘run. Don’t let them catch you. Your life cannot end here, you are too important...’ The figure’s breathing slowed until finally it stopped, his eyes closed and his head sunk onto his chest. The amulet Wildern was wearing was tingling yet again, ferociously now. Voices were screaming inside his head as Wildern approached an opening ahead of him. An open door lay before him, leading to the forests outside, no longer peaceful and serene but now dark and ominous. As he stepped through the opening his eyes caught another sight. A woman was hanging from a tree, half-naked and blood stained. Her face was contorted in previous discomfort, her eyes open wide, and hiding the horrified pain she had felt. The woman was dead. Wildern’s mind went blank, the voices quieted to a murmur and the amulet ceased to move. He closed his eyes for a second, and then he ran. The running seemed endless, driven by emotion Wildern continued his unknown journey. Faster he ran, deeper and deeper into the forest, his strides widening until finally his body refused to work any longer. In a heap of anger, sadness and exhaustion, he collapsed to the floor, and the darkness came... Tweet
