"O'boy," a loud voice interrupted him, "we can have roasted mouse for dinner, just like the ones we ate in here last month. I get the left hind-leg." It was the two evil aardvarks that had eaten Jeff's family. "Eeeeaaaakkkkk," Jeff screamed, dropping his schoolwork and running over to the fire. He picked up a burning stick and told them, "Shoo, get out of here. Leave me alone." The evil aardvarks laughed, gathering around poor Jeff, not at all afraid of his little stick. However, they were scared, very scared, when Cuddles came in to see what all the noise was about. *** "Nice aardvark, Cuddles. Please pass the Tabasco sauce?" Jeff asked his friend, who was lying next to him at the fire, chomping happily. By/Oscar Rat. P.S. Since I wrote this story, poor Jeff has died. My companion of over 2 1/2 years had a heart attack while fixing our driveway with his bulldozer. He died old and fat, which many wild mice never have a chance to do. Tweet
