I have heard this sentence many times in my life. It is not easy to hear but it has made me stronger for proving people wrong about me. A true personal account of how to cope with "friends" that stab you in the back and how to find your voice. | |||
Click here to read the first 75 lines of the story all my life. I crave friendship and it is always out of reach or I get tricked by losers and frienemies. College was awful. Work was not much better. There are cliques everywhere and until I learned to use my voice and tell these awful losers to back off, I was a victim. I was so tired of being a victim that my survival skills gave me courage. I was kicked out of my own college room by my roommate because she decided she hated my "beady little eyes". I can't help my eyes are small. What is the matter with these people? Why are people so shallow and ridiculous? Why should I turn the other cheek? Online friends are the worst!! They make up stuff and lie. They stab you in the back and tell their friends you are stalking them when all you are doing is asking them how they are and what's new? Is everyone paranoid online? I wish I could be confident but these idiots made me paranoid. My life was clouded by cliques and rejection and all I wanted was to be a good and true friend to someone, anyone. Was my desperation for friendship like a disease that made people run away in droves? Am I like the blob? Eeeeeeeekkkkk! She wants to be my friend...run, hide...seek shelter NOW!! I wish people would wake up and be kind to one another and not be so entitled to think they are better than you. I never thought I was better. I never had the chance to even think that. My self worth was crushed long ago by thoughtless, snot nosed kids that laughed at anything that was different. Me, I am different. "I am so glad I am not her." I am sure glad I am me!!!! Tweet
