the area between the Floyd and Big Sioux Rivers on the banks of

Missouri River affectionately called Big Mo what would become now Sioux

City.

Sioux City would become a Tri-State city after formation of

states located between Missouri River on the south, Floyd and the Big

Sioux rivers on east and west respectively. Part of Sioux City across

the Missouri River is in Nebraska; part of Sioux City across the Big

Sioux River is in South Dakota and the biggest in between area is in

Iowa. Now, Sioux City is divided between three rivers and three states

and that is unique.

The corn and soybean crops grow fast around Sioux City from

fertile soils and good water supply. The transpiration from thousands

of miles of crop canopy and the rivers contributes high humidity in

summer to turn Sioux City into a hot muggy place in summer. On the

streets of Sioux City, one can see the live hogs and cattle on the

trailers heading towards their final destination; the meat processing

plants. Drivers are safe on the streets of Sioux City since cattle

don't show road rage like some commuters on big city roads. In Sioux

City nobody can get lost since all the roads lead to the slow moving

Mighty Mo heading south to join its longtime buddy fast moving

Mississippi River to gain momentum towards Gulf Coast carrying barges

loaded with goods.
