Click here to read the first 75 lines of the story Sam came back with a bottle of something and a shot glass. Lucy looked in his direction. “Actually, right now I could go for a beer.” Lucy told the bartender. “Make that two.” Hades piped in. Lucy looked over and smiled. “So what are you, work wise I mean?” He asked. “I am a nurse at the Judith's hospital about two blocks from here.” She told him. He nodded. “What about you? What are you?” Lucy asked. Hades wasn't sure what to say. “I.......um.......well I'm new in town, but I used to be a.......” “Here are you drinks.” Sam interrupted. Lucy gave him a smile and took her beer. She turned back and looked at Hades. “You were saying?” She asked. “I used to be, well, a watcher of the dead.” He told her taking a drink. “What, did you work in a cemetery or something?” He asked him. “You could say that.” “Sounds.......fun.” Lucy said. Hades shook his head.“Not really.” “How long have you been in town anyway?”She asked. Hades looked at the clock. “About four hours.” He replied smiling. Lucy laughed. “You really are new in town.” Hades nodded and took another drink. He looked at Lucy and smiled. The two of them sat at the bar for almost two hours. Laughing and talking. This was the most fun that Hades had ever had. The two of them shared their memories. Well at least Lucy did. Hades only memories would be like a horror story to anyone ears. They joked with each other and told stories. They were having so much fun that they didn't even realize how much time had gone by. “Oh my gosh, it's getting late and I have an early shift at the hospital tomorrow morning. I should probably get going.” Lucy explained. “I should probably go to. I have to find somewhere to crash for the night.”Hades added. “Well it was really nice meeting you Henry. I had a really fun time. I hope I see you around sometime.” She told him. Hades nodded. “Yeah, me to.” Hades said getting up. Lucy paid for her drink and left the bar. Hades stood there for a second. Then he walked out and got onto his bike. As Hades drove through New York City, he swore he would never go back to his old life. He hated it and he wanted out. He would make a new life. He needed to find a place to sleep so he could plan out his next move. He drove until he got to the first hotel he saw. It was late and Hades hoped that someone would still be awake to let him in. He rang the front door bell and was relieved when someone came to let him in. “Sorry I came so late. I need a room for one.” Hades told the man behind the counter. “That's okay. Here take room B14.” The man behind the desk told him while handing him a key. “Thanks.” Hades had nothing but the clothes he was wearing and his bike, so he went straight to his room. He would have to start looking for an apartment. He had all this money that he had never been able to use. He would have to buy cloths and furniture to, but that was no problem. Right now he needed some sleep. He was so tired; he collapsed on the bed and almost instantly fell asleep. Tweet
